An unidentified man was taken to a local medical facility after he barricaded himself inside a hotel room and threatened to end his life Thursday night.
Police were called to 295 Beach St. around 6 p.m. for an unidentified man who had barricaded himself in room at the Debonair Motel. According to police, the man told the Veterans Affairs Hospital that he had a loaded gun and wanted to kill himself.
SWAT Team members used specialized equipment to gain access to the room and secured the man, police said.
No one was hurt during the incident.
The man was taken to a medical facility for evaluation.
Police said the event was an isolated incident.
