MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

This weekend won't be nearly as wet as Friday but there will be light showers around from time to time.

The sun is expected to make an appearance but there will be an abundance of clouds.

On Friday, flash flood warnings were issued for parts of Connecticut as heavy rain fell across most of the state on Friday.

Flooding was reported in Milford, Stratford and Bridgeport as a result of the downpours, according to emergency officials.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall caused flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low-lying spots.

The Westfield Connecticut Post Shopping Mall on Boston Post Road in Milford was closed for a brief time, due to flooding. Everyone was evacuated when the incident occurred, however people were allowed to return less than an hour later.

"This weather's good for a taxi," said driver Galen Priestley, whose business has increased "200 percent" because of the flooding.
