Hartford police are searching for people responsible for shooting a woman in the head while she was driving in the south end late Thursday night.
The woman is expected to survive, sources said. She drove herself to the entrance of Hartford Hospital.
The woman told police that she was driving westbound on Whitmore Street just before 8:30 p.m. when she heard gunshots. She then felt pain in her head.
According to police, she had superficial wounds and the bullet did not go into her head.
The cause is under investigation by the Major Crimes Unit.
