A 44 year old man who was stabbed this afternoon at 233 Goodrich Street in Hamden has been identified as Lavern Brown.
Brown received emergency surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Brown was stabbed in the chest by his live-in girlfriend, Rita Renee Johnson, 51, who fled the scene on foot.
She was found and taken into custody.
She's been charged with murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
She's scheduled to appear in court October 1.
