Police in Waterbury say they are investigating a car accident that killed a 61-year-old woman from Naugatuck.
Police said on Saturday that the crash occurred Friday afternoon at the intersection of Chase Parkway and Rt. 64. They say Pamela Winston was driving her car when a tractor-trailer that was attempting to turn left onto Chase Parkway slammed into the driver side of her vehicle.
Winston was taken to Waterbury Hospital where physicians pronounced her dead a short time later.
Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 51-year-old Michael Ploch of Oxford. He was not injured.
Investigators are still looking into the crash and no charges have been filed yet.
