Woman accused of killing boyfriend due in court

HAMDEN, CT (WFSB) -

A woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death in Hamden is due in court on Monday.

Officials with the Hamden Police Department said 51-year-old Rita Johnson killed 44-year-old Lavern Brown at a home on Goodrich Street on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the two may have been fighting when the stabbing occurred.

Friends said Brown leaves behind four children.
