New Haven police arrested a 20-year-old man Tuesday after they said he shot and killed a teenager at a housing complex in the city.
On Sept. 18, police were called to Malcolmb Court just before 7:30 p.m. after people reported hearing gunfire. The callers told police that they heard several shots in the area of Church Street South public housing complex near Columbus Avenue.
Officers found Joseph Mirvil, 29, of New Haven suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he died a short time later.
On Tuesday, detectives for the Major Crimes Unit arrested John Claudio without incident for the murder of Mirvil on Carlisle Street, police said. He was charged with murder and is being held on $1 million bond.
