GREENWICH, CT (WFSB) -
Police in Greenwich said a fire that killed a man and left his mother fighting for his life may have been set on purpose.
The fire broke out on MacArthur Drive around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters said 42-year-old Dean Verboven was killed and his mother, 69-year-old Barbara, was badly burned.
Verboven was the son of a former Greenwich police officer.
Crews said there was already an investigation under way into the immense amount of clutter inside the home before the fire broke out.
