A Trumbull man arrested in 2012 for allegedly pointing a handgun at a man over an incident of road rage has had the case dismissed.
An unidentified woman and her 27-year-old son approached a vehicle at the intersection of Wilton Road and Kings Highway North in Westport.
Andrew Blum, whom police arrested for the incident, said the woman's son came at his car.
That's when Blum said the gun was involved.
Using the SUV's license plate information, police determined that Blum lived in Trumbull and officers arrived at his home where he was arrested without incident.
Officers recovered a Glock 23, .40 caliber semiautomatic handgun, which was registered to Blum. Police said Blum had a permit to carry the weapon.
Blum was charged with second-degree threatening and second-degree reckless endangerment.
However, the judge agreed with Blum's defense that Blum acted in self-defense.
The case was dismissed on Dec. 23, 2013.
