2 Orange residents accused of murder-for-hire plot

The Milford Police Department has arrested  an Orange couple Wednesday in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme to kill their exes.

Gregory A. Christofakis, 50, and his companion, Ziba Guy, 44, both of 69 Marsh Hill Rd., were arrested after police said they planned to solicit someone to murder and assault his ex-wife and her ex-husband, according to sources.

Guy is a doctor who used to practice obstetrics and gynecology, or OBGYN, and her medical license is currently no longer active.

Her ex-husband told Eyewitness News that she has a drug problem.

"I haven't seen her in a year," he said. "She looks terrible completely."

Police have not revealed how they learned of the couple's murder-for-hire plot.

Christofakis, who owns Greg's Auto Body in Milford, has a lengthy criminal history, including convictions for assault and violating restraining orders.

Guy's ex-husband is still worried about his safety, even after his ex-wife was arrested Wednesday.

"They weren't going to commit the crime themselves. They are going to solicit it or hire somebody. They can do it with a phone call or text," he said. "It's not like it was a relief. It's good she's in jail. Who knows for how long? But it's not a relief. Anything can happen at any time."

Christofakis and Guy, who are both former Milford residents, were both charged with conspiracy to commit assault. Christofakis was also charged with criminal attempt to commit murder.

Christofakis was being held on a $750,000 bond while Guy was being held on a $250,000 bond. Both appeared in Superior Court in Milford Thursday afternoon.

Milford police are still investigating the case and more arrests are expected.

Court documents have been sealed until later this year.
