MIDDLEBURY, CT (WFSB) -

One man is in the hospital and another man is facing charges after a car crash in Middlebury.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday night, near the intersection of Route 63 and Woodside Avenue.

Police said Angelo Ligi, 60, of Prospect, lost control of his motorcycle when another driver cut him off.

According to police, the driver of that car, identified as David Winckler, 52, of Naugatuck, fled the scene.

Ligi remains in critical condition at Waterbury Hospital.

Winckler is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Officials are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the crash.
