Hartford-area robberies put Simsbury residents on alert

Posted: Updated:

Simsbury police are warning residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity after several Hartford-area robberies within the last two weeks.

The armed robberies occurred at convenience stores, gas stations and take-out restaurants, police said.

Simsbury police stressed that there is no indication that the armed robberies would occur in town, but officers wanted residents to be vigilant just in case.

The robbers wear baseball hats and hooded sweatshirts, police said, and at least one of them carries a shotgun.

Simsbury police said if you see something suspicious, but it is not an emergency, call the Simsbury Police Department at (860) 658-3100.
