Police in Stonington, Cromwell investigating car break-ins

CROMWELL, CT (WFSB) -

The Stonington and Cromwell police departments are advising residents in both towns to be cautious after a series of car break-ins.

According to Stonington police, there have been five car break-ins in the northern section of town over the past week.

In Cromwell, at least 14 vehicles at the Cromwell Hills and Fox Meadows complexes were broken into overnight Sunday. According to police, all the vehicles were locked at the time of the burglaries and suspects took items from the center consoles and glove boxes.

Police in both towns are warning residents to make sure their car doors are locked at all times and valuables are out of sight.

All the break-ins are under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Stonington Police Department at 860-599-4411 or the Cromwell Police Department at 860-635-2256.
