The city of Hartford is mourning the loss of former mayor James Kinsella.
Kinsella served as mayor from 1953 to 1961 and was known for his work in redeveloping the city.
Later he became a judge, but retired in 1984 after being recommended for impeachment.
In recent years, Kinsella was an advocate for a variety of causes, including opposing construction of a school in the West End.
Kinsella was 88.
