HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

The growing season will come to an end across much of Connecticut Friday and early Saturday morning.

A Freeze Warning has been issued for the entire state.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the 40s by the evening.

By Saturday morning, readings will be in the 20s and lower 30s. Some of the colder locations will have a hard freeze.

It could hit a record; the lowest temperature for October 13 is 28 degrees, set in 1981 at Bradley International Airport.

It will be cold morning Saturday for the Hartford Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K, so plan accordingly.
