NORWALK, CT (WFSB) -
Eyewitness News has obtained video showing the suspect after he shot a Greenwich woman in a grocery store parking lot in Norwalk on Wednesday afternoon.
A 50-year-old woman was shot in the stomach while getting into her car after shopping at the Stop & Shop on Connecticut Avenue around 1:30 p.m., police said.
The unidentified shooting victim had just dropped off her 15-year-old son at a bowling alley and was returning to her car with groceries when she was ambushed by a man with a gun, police said.
She was taken to an area hospital after shooting and is expected to make a full recovery, police said. No one of the woman's vital organs were hit by the bullet, police said.
The area where the shooting took place is highly commercial, police said several cameras have caught the shooting on camera.
Eyewitness News was able get video from a business about 100 yards away from the shooting. The recording shows a man in dark clothing near a woman's SUV followed by police cruisers surrounding the vehicle a few minutes later.
Police have obtained photos of the possible suspect from a recording in the area.
Officers are trying to enhance other pieces of video at this time and are working with several business owners in the area.
Following the shooting, officers canvassed the area for hours, but couldn't find anything. They are still looking for the suspect as of Friday night.
Police said they are still following several leads and do have several persons of interest. But, no suspects at this time.
The shooting is believed to be random, according to police.
