NORWICH, CT (WFSB) -
Police have arrested the driver involved in a serious hit-and-run accident late Friday night.
According to police, Amalia Rivera, of Norwich, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree assault, evading responsibility and failure to drive right in the accident which injured two people.
Officers were able to locate Rivera and the offending vehicle, a 1999 Chrysler 300 on Donahue Drive. Rivera was held on $100,000 bond.
Officers were called to Hamilton Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
One person was taken to William W. Backus Hospital for injuries suffered in the crash.
