STAMFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Two firefighters were treated for injuries following a three-alarm fire late Friday night.

Stamford fire officials said several engine companies responded at 11:15 p.m. to the report of thick, black smoke in the area of 141 Cove Road.

Initial units reported heavy smoke coming fro the front and roof of Commuter Dry Cleaners. As additional fire units arrived, heat from the fire broke out the front windows which caused the fire to rapidly spread up the front of the building.

According to firefighters, a second alarm was struck at 11:24 and a third at 11:38 p.m. The fire was put under control within about 45 minutes, officials said. The building was unoccupied at the time and the building sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.

The fire is under investigation by the Stamford fire marshal's department.
