Thousands gathered for the annual ING Hartford Marathon on Saturday morning in Hartford.
The events included a 5k race, half marathon and full marathon.
More than 16,000 people participated in the races and at least 30,000 people came out to watch the events.
Despite the cold weather, many people who took part in the races said it was a fun experience.
"It's exciting," said Karen Olenski, who ran in one of the events. "The people are so nice here, this kind of camaraderie is amazing."
The winner of the marathon was a 26-year-old man from New York, who finished with a record time of 2:15:35.
