NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) -
Republican Former CEO of WWE Linda McMahon and Democratic United States Rep. Chris Murphy have been engaged in a tight Senate race with several attacks ads and on Monday night, they will meet in the third of four debates for the United Stated Senate race.
The debate will be at 7 p.m. at the Garde Arts Center in New London. The debate is sponsored by The Day of New London, the Garde, WTNH and the Robinson & Cole law firm.
Debates in New London have been known to draw large crowds.
Murphy is accusing her of using her millions to buy the election and end Social Security. McMahon accused him of being a career politician, who does not show up for congressional hearings.
Connecticut has a large block of undecided voters, which is 40 percent. Many of them said in a recent poll that they do not believe the ads or pay attention to them.
McMahon and Murphy are vying for the right to succeed Joe Lieberman in the U.S. Senate.
Connecticut has not had a Republican senator in more than 30 years.
The fourth debate is scheduled for Oct. 18 in Hartford.
Previous debates have been held at Eyewitness News in Rocky Hill and the University of Connecticut. The topics covered have ranged from Social Security to the economy to foreign policy.
