VERNON, CT (WFSB) -
A house fire on Merline Road in Vernon sent one firefighter to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said the fire started in the garage just before 1:30 p.m. and extended into the house at 333 Merlin Rd.
One woman was home at the fire, but she was uninjured.
A firefighter was injured while fighting the fire. The firefighter, whose name was not released, was taken to an area hospital, however it is unclear how serious the firefighter's injuries are.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
