Customers of Cox Business are encountering problems with their service, due to outages in some markets.
Technical support teams are working on the issue and trying to restore service "as soon as possible," according to Cox Director of Communications Dana Alexander Nolfe.
The teams are using "its critical response plan" to fix the outages and re-introduce traffic to a secondary platform slowly, so the server does not become overwhelmed.
Currently, about 50 percent of the customers in the New England and Cleveland markets are experiencing outages, Nolfe said.
Cox Business wants customers to know that it is "an issue with the phone and not a business issue," according to Nolfe.
"We're sorry, due to telephone company facility trouble your call cannot be completed at this time," the recorded message that is being sent to Cox Business customers said.
