First Niagara Bank in New Haven robbed Tuesday afternoon

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

New Haven police are investigating an armed robbery at the First Niagara Bank on the corner of Church and Elm streets.

Officers said the suspect claimed he had a gun and demanded money from the teller. He fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

The robbery occurred right before closing at 4 p.m.

The incident is under investigation by New Haven police.
