Man shot in groin in Hartford

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hartford police are investigating a shooting on Green Street where a man was hit in the groin with a bullet.

According to police, an ex-boyfriend of a woman shot her fiance inside an apartment at 46 Green St. about 4 p.m.

The fiance was taken to St. Francis Hospital. There is no word on his condition.

Police found and arrested Ali Richard, 33, near the intersection of Main and Jefferson streets around 5:30 p.m. 

Richard had just gotten out of jail for first-degree assault, firearm charges and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

The ex-boyfriend and the woman have a child together, according to police.

The shooting is under investigation.
