Pedestrian hit, killed by train in Enfield

ENFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a freight train in Enfield Wednesday afternoon.

The collision happened near the intersection of Parsons and Bridge streets around 4:45 p.m.

Residents in the area often see people crossing the tracks and on Wednesday night, they saw a person with a backpack cross them.

The person has not been identified until notification of next of kin.
