SIMSBURY, CT (WFSB) -
A 20-year-old man was seriously injured after he fell 150 feet off the Tariffville Gorge recreational area in Bloomfield.
The man, who is not being identified at this time, had to be transported by Life Star after the fall. He suffered "multiple compound fractures of his limbs and open wounds, as well as internal injuries," police said.
Police said he was conscious and alert when he was transported to Saint Francis Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
The man was climbing on the cliff area when he lost his footing and slipped off the rock falling about 150 feet, police said.
Simsbury fire and police departments assisted with the rope rescue.
