More than a half dozen people are recovering from injuries suffered after police said a man drove his car into the porch of a three-story home in Hartford and it collapsed Thursday night.
Officers were called to Russ Street just after 7 p.m. for a car slammed into a home. No one suffered life-threatening injuries, however several people were severely injured.
"They started crying and everything, screaming," said eyewitness Suemari Vega. "And everybody started coming over here checking out what happened."
An argument between Jonathan Martinez and another man could have lead to the crash.
"He jumped in the car and he hit my baby's father and he ran my baby's father into the thing, and it fell," said Cassandra Floyd of Hartford.
There are concerns about the building since the porch collapsed and the crash knocked out a key support for the roof. City officials secured it Friday afternoon.
Martinez is out on bond and due back in court on Oct. 25.

I first saw the headline early Tuesday on Real Clear Politics, a political news site where I generally start my morning. It's not where I expect to see a story on breast cancer.
