HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
Approximately forty gravestones have been turned over at the Congregation Israel cemetery.
Located at the corner of Waverly and Tower Ave, the vandalism was reported by a congregation member who regularly visits his son's grave.
Many of the headstones were secured to their bases and could cost over $20,000 to properly repair.
One monument stood over 6' tall.
Police have no suspects at this time and extra patrol is being directed to the area.
