MDC reopens facilities closed due to Hurricane Sandy

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

The Metropolitan District reopened its four facilities Thursday after each was closed on Monday in preparation for Hurricane Sandy.

The following places reopened:

  • Boat launch at Goodwin Dam-West Branch Reservoir in Hartland
  • Lake McDonough Recreation Area in Barkhamsted
  • West Hartford Reservoir in West Hartford
  • Reservoir #6 in Bloomfield 

"The MDC requests that the public proceed with caution and obey all posted signage while enjoying our recreational facilities," said Kerry E. Martin, who is the Assistant to the CEO at MDC.
