12-year-old New Haven boy stabbed in buttocks

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

New Haven police said they were investigating reports that a 12-year-old by was stabbed in the buttocks by two men as he was walking with friends Sunday night.

Police said they were sent to Yale-New Haven Hospital just after 11 p.m. after the 12-year-old boy was brought there by his mother.

The boy told police he was with some friends in front of a convenience store near Washington and Columbus avenues before walking through the playground of Roberto Clemente School.

While walking through the area, the boys said two men that were hiding behind some benches jumped out.

The two then taunted the boys and one of them allegedly cut the 12-year-old on the buttocks with a small pocket knife.

The boys said that's when they ran home and the victim told his mother what happened.

The two men were only described as wearing hooded sweatshirts with their hoods cinched up.

The boy's injuries are described as being minor.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police.
