Middletown man dies in motorcycle crash

MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB) -

A 23-year-old Middletown man died days after being involved in a motorcycle crash on Newfield Street on Saturday evening.

According to police, just before 6:30 p.m., a car driven by Krzsztof Piotrowski, 43, of Middletown, was traveling south and a motorcycle driven by Scott Hatje, 23, was traveling north.

Police said Piotrowski attempted to turn into 558 Newfield St., when the car and motorcycle made contact.

Hatje was brought to Hartford Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead Monday.

Piotrowski was not injured.

The crash is under investigation and anyone that may have witnessed it is being asked to call police.
