NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -
Police arrested city man after narcotics sweep with the help of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Officers arrested 37-year-old Luis Muniz of 69 Pleasant St., third floor and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, illegal possession of body armor and criminal possession of a firearm.
Upon officer's arrival, Muniz attempted to throw a handgun out of a window. He was also found to be in possession of body armor and about half of a pound of marijuana.
Muniz was detained by police and will appear in court Nov. 8, 2012.
Officers also conducted a search and seizure warrant at 169 Grove St., 3N. No arrests were made at this location but officers did seize a firearm from the basement of that residence.
