A 22-year-old woman is recovering at the hospital after becoming trapped in a roughly 8-inch space between two buildings near Brown University in Providence.
The Providence Journal reports that according to a police report, Courtney A. Malloy, of Cheshire, Conn., was apparently drunk when she was found around 1 a.m. by a passerby.
She told authorities she didn't know what happened.
Dan LaPlante tells WPRI-TV he was walking in the area and heard someone cry for help, saying she was suffocating and hurt and couldn't move. He found her wedged in the tiny space and called 911.
Acting Battalion Chief Jeffrey Varone tells The Providence Journal firefighters opened a hole in one building to help free her.
