Red Cross assisting after Naugatuck fire

NAUGATUCK, CT (WFSB) -

Officials are investigating a fire in a Naugatuck apartment building on Sunday.

Firefighters rescued people from the building at 66 Terrace Avenue at 6:30 p.m.

The Naugatuck Fire Department was assisted by the Waterbury Fire Department at the scene. They also received assistance from the Beacon Falls and Waterbury Fire Department at the Naugatuck Fire Station.

On Monday, the Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross said it was three people in two families with emergency housing needs after the fire.

Red Cross officials said 11 other tenants from the multi-unit building were able to find other housing accommodations.
