With two games left, LSU holds out slim hope for an SEC Championship berth, as well as hopes for a BCS Bowl destination. The Tigers are currently linked to several bowls. "Here's What They are Saying" about LSU and where the Tigers might end up in the postseason.
With Alabama losing, Oregon moves into the No. 1 slot and will take on No. 2 Kansas State. It will mark the first time since 2005 the SEC doesn't have a team in the BCS Championship game.
Top-ranked Alabama was stunned by Texas A&M at home. Which team benefits more from the Tide's loss -- Kansas State or Notre Dame? What do Saturday's results mean for this week's Bowl Projections?
Texas A&M's upset win over Alabama kept the door slightly open for the Tigers to play in the SEC Championship game, but it may have also cost LSU a BCS Bowl.
Step one of a late-season push to the best possible bowl destination is out of the way for LSU. And a jolting result from Tuscaloosa both helped and potentially hurt the No. 8-ranked Tigers.
The inevitable has occurred: The SEC will not find a place in the BCS title game for the first time since 2005. If the championship game were to be played today, Kansas State and Oregon would square off for the title.
With a projected 10-2 overall record, the Texas A&M Aggies become a very strong possibility here, but I think LSU gets the call from the Fiesta Bowl officials.
