More information is being learned about how police tracked down an alleged rape suspect in Hartford over the weekend.
Detectives said 42-year-old Kenneth Maestas left his cell phone behind at the crime scene.
Maestas is accused of brutally beating and raping a woman inside an abandoned apartment building on Broad Street in the Frog Hollow neighborhood.
The unidentified victim was able to escape by climbing out a window in an attempt to climb to an adjacent balcony.
Witnesses said her face was covered in blood.
Hartford police are now investigating whether Maestas has other victims.
