West Hartford police are searching for a man responsible for a smash-and-grab at a local package store.
Around 3:25 a.m., the West Hartford Police Department said they received a call from a security alarm company for Cheers Wine & Spirits on Farmington Avenue.
According to security officials, the store's burglar alarm was tripped by the front door.
Police said responding units found the front door was smashed with a rock and someone entered.
Hartford police responded with a K-9 unit, and the interior of the store was searched for anyone that may have still been inside. No one was found.
The K-9 track also proved to be unsuccessful.
Police described the suspect as a white male in his 20s with short, brown hair. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and white gloves.
Officers said the suspect stole numerous packs of cigarettes.
