NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -
A teenager in New Haven said she needed to break free from the grip of a man who entered her home while she was alone on Tuesday evening.
Police said a 13-year-old girl had been inside her family's apartment and heard her door opening. At that time, the girl said she saw a man standing in her doorway and he told her he was home alone and wanted her to come into his apartment.
She said she told him no and to leave.
Believing he left the apartment, she went back upstairs and was on her computer when she said she looked up and the man was standing in her doorway.
At that point, she told police, he grabbed her and wrapped his arms around her.
The teen was able to break free from his grip, pushed him away and ran into another room to call her mother.
Her mom, who was at work, got on the phone with the intruder, identified as Calvin Burruss, 23, and told him to get out of the apartment.
He was arrested and charged with risk of injury, sexual assault and burglary.
