Identity theft being investigated by Vernon police

EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

The Vernon Police Department conducted an investigation involving financial crimes and possible identity theft at two residences in surrounding towns Friday afternoon and arrested one woman.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home on Woodlawn Circle in East Hartford and another at an undisclosed location in Vernon.

"Vernon detectives executed a search warrant related to a financial crime, identity theft investigation that we've been working on for the last month," said Vernon Police Lt. William Meier.

The investigation lead to the arrest of Anna Hansley, 26, of Vernon.

Hansley was charged with third-degree larceny. She was released on a $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 27.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and expected to continue through the weekend.
