City of Phoenix announces Thanksgiving closures

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

City of Phoenix offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Here's how city services are affected over Thanksgiving and through the weekend:

Transit: Buses and Dial-a-Ride will operate on Sunday schedules (5 a.m.-10 p.m.) Thursday and Friday. Express and RAPID routes will not operate. Valley Metro Light Rail will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thursday but will return to a regular schedule, including late-night service, on Friday.

Trash and recycling: Thursday's collection moves to Friday, and Friday's collection moves to Saturday, Nov. 30.

Transfer Stations: They will be closed both days.

Library: All Phoenix Public Library locations will be closed both days. The normal schedule will resume on Saturday.

Parking meters: They will be free on Thursday, Nov. 28.
