A Torrington woman was arrested after police said she forged a local doctor's signature to obtain 43 prescriptions including Vicodin, Xanax and oxycodone from area pharmacies.
Jodi Deziel, 38, was arrested by the Waterbury Police Department on Tuesday after an investigation by Torrington police began in June. According to police, Deziel was forging the signature of a doctor that she worked for to obtain prescription drugs.
Police said Deziel was filling the forged prescriptions at pharmacies in Waterbury, Torrington and Southington.
Deziel was charged with 43 counts of possession of a narcotic substance and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud as well as sale of a hallucinogenic substance, and non-student drugs within 1500 feet of a school.
She was arraigned Nov. 21. Deziel is scheduled to appear again in Bantam Superior Court on Dec. 4 after being released on a $10,000 bond.
