Powerball jackpot reaches $500 million - WFSB 3 Connecticut

Wednesday's Powerball jackpot skyrocketed to $500 million from $425 million, further establishing it as the largest jackpot in the game's 20-year history.
The prize Saturday was $325 million, and for the 15th consecutive time, no winners matched all the numbers in the drawing.
The numbers were: 22, 32, 37, 44, 50 and PB 34.
A single winner, if choosing the cash option, would walk away with a cool $327 million before taxes.
The overall odds of winning a Powerball prize is 1 in 31.8 based on the $2 play. The odds of striking it rich with the jackpot is 1 in 175,223,510.
In other words, you have a better chance of being struck by a bolt of lightning than hitting the jackpot.
Powerball tickets are sold in 42 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
