Silver Alert issued for missing Groton Man

GROTON, CT (WFSB) -

Groton police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing man who may be violent.

Police said 78-year-old James Fontaine was last seen on Mitchell Street around 6 p.m. Sunday.

Fontaine is described as a white man, about 5'7" tall and 160 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing white sneakers and jeans.

People are asked not to approach Fontaine because he could become violent, police said.

Fontaine may have been picked up or staying with a friend, according to police.

A silver alert was issued by the Groton City Police Department. Anyone with information into her whereabouts is asked to contact the police at 860-445-2451.
