A Hartford mother is worried about her daughter's safety and is urging her school to do something about it after her child was attacked at school.
In a video obtained by Eyewitness News, it shows a 15-year-old being attacked outside of Hartford Public High School.
The video, which has been since posted on YouTube, continues with the girl eventually getting up and walking away with her friends. However, it doesn't stop and the girls follow her and try to attack her again.
"The girl has a couple of friends, four or five, that wanted to jump my daughter," said Cordell Johnson, whose daughter was attacked in the video.
Johnson's daughter was hurt during the incident and was hit in the head and suffered a bloody nose.
"I want the school to take action, to take action so that this doesn't happen to my daughter or other kids in the school," Johnson said.
She said her daughter has been bullied for the past month over a comment she made about going to lunch early.
On last Tuesday, after basketball practice, Johnson's daughter told her she was in the locker room when the girl, who has been bullying her, tried to pick a fight.
Afraid this incident would get worse, Johnson called the principal.
"I've been calling all day Wednesday," Johnson said. "Mr. (David) Chambers didn't pick up the phone."
Johnson told Eyewitness News that she and Chambers have talked a few times and he told her that he would handle it.
"Four students involved in the incident were issued 10-day suspensions," said the school in a statement Monday. "One of the four is being recommended for expulsion."
The school is calling the attack an isolated incident and is not commenting on the mother's concerns about bullying.
Hartford police have given the four of the students involved in the fight a summons to appear in juvenile court.
