WILLIMANTIC, CT (WFSB) -

Willimantic police have arrested a husband and wife they said were running a drug factory out of their Union Street apartment.

According to police, 49-year-old Hector Ramos and his wife, 56-year-old Lydia Pedraza were selling marijuana from their home.  Police said they received complaints from concerned neighbor about the activity.

When officers arrived at the home they located Ramos in the driveway.  Police said Ramos dropped several bags of marijuana from his hand when he saw the officers approaching.

Police said they found Pedraza in the kitchen of the home with a large amount of marijuana on the table that she was packaging for sale.

Police located drug paraphernalia, additional packaging material and over $1,500 in cash in the home.  In addition, police said a 17-year-old juvenile was present in the apartment during the incident.

The couple was arrested and charged with operating a drug factory, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and risk of injury to a minor.

Both Pedraza and Ramos are being held on $25,000 bonds and are due in Danielson Superior Court on Tuesday.
