The U.S. Marshals Service in Arizona said a woman who failed to appear for sentencing for weapons trafficking has been returned to the state from Mexico.
Tammy May Astorga was arrested Tuesday and returned to the U.S. on a warrant issued in February 2007.
She originally fled to Sinaloa, Mexico, and later relocated to Mexicali, Baja Norte, Mexico, according to a U.S. Marshal spokeswoman.
She was booked into jail in Calexico, CA, and made an initial court appearance in El Centro, CA, Thursday. She is waiting to be returned to Arizona, the spokeswoman said.
