W. Springfield police investigating fatal car crash

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A person is dead following a late night car accident.

According to Sgt. Hubert Rees, of the West Springfield Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 11:36 p.m. on Friday.

A vehicle traveling north on Morton Street with five people inside hit a pole.

Rees said a passenger in that vehicle was killed.

The four others were taken to the hospital, but they suffered no life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and police have not yet released any details on the victim.
