According to reports from the Department of Public Health, there have been 59 confirmed cases of the flu in Connecticut since August.
There have been cases of the flu in seven of the eight counties in Connecticut with the most cases being in Fairfield County with 32 total.
Previous reports state that the number of visits to the emergency room for flu have increased in the past week by a level of 5 percent. There has also been an increase in the number of outpatients as well.
There have been 10 people hospitalized for the flu, five with Type A and five with Type B.
A new report on the number of cases of flu in Connecticut is expected to be out Thursday.
Flu season goes from October to May and millions of people across the United States are expected to get it this year with children being more prone.
