Bristol police investigating attempted abduction

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

Bristol police are looking for two men in connection with an attempted abduction.

According to police, the 18-year-old female victim was in the area of Zipp and Curtis avenues around 6:45 p.m. when she was approached by the men.

The victim told police they tried to drag her into a car, but she was able to break free and run to her home.

The suspects are described as large built men, both standing about 6' tall and were last seen driving a black four-door car with heavily tinted windows. The men could have been wearing masks or just have dark skin, police said.

Residents were shocked to hear the news of the attempted abduction.

"I was very stunned, not something I expected to happen in this neighborhood. Kids get the bus here," said Kathie Legace, who lives on Curtiss Avenue. "I watched my son this morning. We're making sure the kids get paired up to get the school bus."

Police are still investigating the incident, but they are also asking for the public's help with the case.

"This isn't a big crime hamlet, so just concerned," said Robert Pullen of Bristol.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bristol Police Department at 860-584-3011.
