A grand jury has indicted four teens on aggravated rape charges in connection with an Oct. 13 rape that allegedly occurred in a dormitory on the UMass Amherst campus.
The grand jury charged Adam Liccardi, 18; Justin King, 18; and Emmanuel Bile, 18, all of Pittsfield; and Caleb Womack, 17, of Windsor Locks, CT, with three counts of aggravated rape each. Liccardi also faces a fourth charge of rape.
Northwestern District Attorney David Sullivan says King, Bile, and Womack are expected to be arraigned in Hampshire Superior Court on Monday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.
The four teens were not UMass students. Campus police say someone let them into the dorm the night of the attack. The 18-year-old female victim allegedly knew the teens, but police have not disclosed the nature of their relationships.
UMass Amherst has hired a safety consultant to audit dorm and campus security procedures. Copyright 2012 WSHM (Meredith Corporation). All rights reserved.
